Go Suns!

Bento #99, originally uploaded by kawaiikiki.

I'm posting tomorrow's bento right now, as the Suns start strong in game 2 against the Spurs! I got in the fan mood and made this for bentochallenge.

Contents: Mini sandwich with vegetarian chicken topped with vegan cheese letters, tomoato onigiri basketball, olive skewer, tomato skewer, and Tofurky pompoms.

Go Suns!

Wow, that's awesome. I had no idea that there were any other bento enthusiasts around here (especially any as talented). Nice to meet you. May I ask, do you buy your stuff online or have you found any good places for bento shopping in AZ? I'm in west Phoenix and there really isn't much around here.

If you check this guide you'll see some places in AZ: http://community.livejournal.com/bentolunch/1078782.html

I've purchased some things online, but I've bought a lot around the Valley. I'm in the East Valley but I found a place in downtown Phoenix called Banzai 99. They are the closest place to a Daiso I've found. They have some bento boxes, chopsticks, cooking tools, etc. I know that Fujiya in Tempe had some divider cups and sauce bottles. The House of Rice in Scottsdale also has some things like sauce bottles and onigiri molds. It just depends on what you are looking for. You can also try any small Asian markets (there are a lot of Korean ones around) and they might carry some items too.

Nice to meet you too.

Oh no! I also loved Banzai but they recently closed down. (I go to Willow bakery a lot and saw them closed last time) If they have just moved locations then I don't know where to. I've also gotten a lot of nice things from those places you mentioned. Sadly, no place that actually has a good selection of boxes themselves. I'm looking for something a bit bigger and more formal for picnics but haven't found anything to suit my tastes here. Thanks for the link also. I will have to check it out. If you like Hello kitty, I was in Sanrio at AZ Mills just this weekend and they have some new bento stuff in. I bought a sweet plate set but not the bento stuff. The last bento set I bought was from a Japanese site called, Mother Garden. That place is lovely if you don't mind ordering overseas with a shopping service. ^-^

I haven't tried Mother Garden before. I bought a nice picnic bento from JList though, only $14. I don't think they carry it anymore.

That's an awesome bento. Love the lines on the basketball, they are so neat. And the pom poms are cute.

Re: cutters
Yup! I found them a a craft store (Michael's) and if I remember correctly they were in the cake making section with the fondant cutters. If not they were in the clay section.
