This is my entry for Halloween week, but it was more for today being the last day of Dia de los Muertos. 'Sugar' onigiri rice skull and sesame tofu bites. The tofu was a new recipe I tried and was quite disappointed.
First time posting a bento here (although I've lurked and left comments a few times), but I finally had a bento that fit the theme. Here it is:

Side Container:
1 - Mini Cupcake
2 - Skull & Bones Apple
Main Container (Clockwise from top left):
1 - Pumpkin Baby Bel Cheese
2 - Cat Shaped Chicken Salad Sandwich
3 - Hard Boiled, Colored Egg Monster
4 - Carrots
5 - Black Olive and Marinated Mushroom Picks

Eyeballs! Lots of them! All staring at you! How's that for Halloween?

Smoked salmon & cream cheese onigiri eyeballs, a side salad of iceberg, more smoked salmon and cheese, plus a small helping of tuna salad---tuna chunks, chopped onions, and pickle relish.
For a more detailed post (or if you just really really like staring at eyeballs), clicky clicky!

Halloween in Egypt, where embalmed mummies had their guts removed and buried in a little jar next to them. So, that's what's in the yellow jelly container. Ewwwww!
Mummy calzone is buried surrounded by his riches -- jeweled fish and nuggets of gold. Top layer is a jack-o-lantern floating in a cauldron of black beans, beheaded trees and potatoes fiercely run through with a sharp skewer. Disclosure: I totally stole the brilliant mummy calzone idea from Vegan Lunchbox.
Of course this week's challenge is to create a Halloween themed bento. But I'd like to extend the challenge a bit more to add similar holidays from around the world, maybe you'd like to create a Guy Fawkes or a Dia de los Muertos bento. Let's see more than a cut-out bat or ghost!
