Less jolly, more constipated

So, this is my entry for the pirate theme this week. I love pirates. I...kind of don't love my creative muscles for totally failing me, but if there's going to be a pirate theme, I'm going to eat something piratey. Yarr!

Arr we tharr yet? )

Ahoy Mateys!

>_> It was really hard to think of something that no one else had already done... so I feel really un-original. ;_;

Pirate bento #2

I'll admit I was dog tired last night when I put this together.  I made myself clean the kitchen and do the chores before I could mess with lunch, so by the time it was done I was ready to crawl in bed.  I wanted to use my new bento box but the parrot was too big! wahh!  I'm whining....

Not shown is a side of grape tomatoes and more sugar snap peas

Uninspired, I admit.

You fight like a dairy farmer! )

But I spent all my piratey inspiration last year already:

( How appropriate. You fight like a cow. )

Has anyone else seen those new IHOP commercials? I feel like I should be shouting the word "treasure" everytime I say it now XD

Second pirates entry

I said I would come back with a better Jack Sparrow. I think I want to come back with still a better Jack Sparrow. I don't know yet what to make him from, I run out of ideas lol.

Field salad (?), sweet corn, carrot, wakame with sesame and chili, tofu with nori and soy sauce. Bandana made from tomato skin which I used for making a sauce today (the rest of tomato that is lol).

Yo-ho-ho! More piratey fun!

My first challenge entry! I'm going to the premiere of the Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End tonight at midnight. A pirate themed bento seemed perfect for today. :)

Top tier: rice decorated with Pirate flag made out of nori

Bottom tier: Cpt. Jack Sparrow shaped onigiri, surrounded by golden corn coins and some green pea emeralds. Sandwiches with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce, secured with shell and fish toothpicks.

Side: strawberries, pine apple candy and strawberry truffle marshmallow.

Pirates - first attempt

I WILL do more pirate themed bentos. I have SO many ideas, but this one was a bit limited by the fact that it had to be something my kid would eat, too.

So here's my first, sorta lame, entry in the Pirates challenge:

Beware the curse....

My first bento challenge!  I was so excited that this week's challenge was PIRATES!  I am lucky to live very near Disneyland so this morning I ventured over to the Mouse House for some piratey inspiration.  I didn't find anything to actually put IN my bento, but I was definitely inspired, seeing that the new movie comes out next week.  Here's what I came up with tonight.  I hope to do at least one more for this challenge!
